Stan Meresman is a professional independent Director, Audit Committee Chair, advisor & mentor. He advises CEOs & CFOs on preparing to become a public reporting company, IPO process, operating as a public company, and scaling the company for rapid growth. He is a "financial expertÓ as defined by under the rules of the SEC. Currently, Stan is a director of Snap (SNAP), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), and formerly LinkedIn (LNKD-prior to acquisition); and private companies Medallia and HyTrust. Previously Stan was an advisor to management at Pinterest, Dropbox and Nutanix.
As a CFO, Stan has taken a
company public (Cypress Semiconductor), served as CFO of two NYSE-listed companies:
Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) and Cypress Semiconductor. As Chair of the Audit
Committee, he has guided five companies through their successful IPO (Snap,
LinkedIn, Zynga, Riverbed Technology, Polycom).
Currently, Stan is a Board member of Snap (SNAP), where he is Chair of Audit Committee; and Board member of Palo Alto Networks (PANW), where he is Chair of Audit Committee.
Previously, Stan has served on Boards including LinkedIn (LNKD), Zynga (ZNGA), Riverbed Technology (RVBD), Polycom (PLCM), Meru Networks (MERU) and VMware (as a private company), as well as others. He had been General Partner and COO of Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), a private equity and venture capital firm focused on growth technology companies.
Earlier in his career, Stan
was SVP & CFO of Silicon Graphics (NYSE) where revenue grew from $250
million to $3.8 billion, completed four acquisitions and a dozen strategic
alliances. Previously, Stan was VP, Finance & Administration and CFO
of Cypress Semiconductor (NYSE) where revenue grew from $2 million to over $100
million and successfully completed its IPO.
Stan received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business; and B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley. He has attended Stanford Law School Directors' College Corporate Governance programs. Stan was a panel speaker NYSE IPO BOARD FORUM "Building BoardsÓ December 2013.
Stan currently serves as a Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Sunset Cultural Center, Carmel. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Community Board, Carmel Bach Festival Foundation, and Castilleja School, Palo Alto, and as Chair of the Board of Family Service Mid-Peninsula, Palo Alto. Stan was past President of the Board of the Financial Executives Institute (FEI), Silicon Valley Chapter. He was a past President of the Board of the Monterey Peninsula Country Club, Pebble Beach.
